Alone on christmas day,
It's true they have their children,
And they are thankful anyway.

Yet as they set out christmas eve,
Decorating there tree,
There is one wish upon their list,
They hope one day to come true.

I wish to have that special love,
With me on christmas day,
Not to be separated by miles and miles,
Across a distant sea.

Just to hold him/her in my arms every day,
To know that I am loved in every possible way,
To be excepted for who I am,
To look into their eyes.

To walk under that mistletoe,
To have the one we love,
Place a kiss upon our lips,
And say Merry Christmas dear.

So this christmas,
When you're cuddled up nice and close,
With the one you hold dear,
Spare a little thought,
For mums and dads every where,
That only have thier children to hold.

Perfect for the holidays. Captures the mood of the season and all the melancholy of not having that one special person with you.
Nice work.
