Torn limb from limb
In just a week
A statistic so grim

High technology munition
Raining down
On children playing
On the ground

And what is it all this carnage for?
For the sake of future peace?
Or just to re-elect Bush?
Don’t you want this horror to cease?

Imagine the scene in that impoverished land
Children playing happily, toys in hand
Then there’s a roar, a deafening sound
Before body parts are splattered all around

What kind of path has this Bush taken?
For the “great” United States?
The path of child killer?
A bringer of death who everyone hates?

More Afghan children die in raid

The US says civilian casualties are inevitable
The US military in Afghanistan has revealed that six children died in a raid on suspected militants in the eastern province of Paktia last week.

News of the deaths came shortly after the US apologised for killing nine children in a separate raid in the neighbouring province of Ghazni.

wow, theres a really powerful tone there. I reckon you could be the next great political poet, if there was ever such a thing. I especially admire the way you used an actual fragment of an atricle, this in a way shows the truth of what your trying to get across in your poem, and strengthens the ideology and thoughts inside it. Fantastic write, and keep up the good work. Maybe one day, you can refuse an award from george bush himself...
Peace
Alec Fernandez

War always tests what we believe in, some times I want to shut the whole world out. turn the radio and telivision off so that I don't have to deal with it. I hate war!! I wish there was something more I could do to bring peace.

Your poem is good, I hope when Bush is voted out of office that we don't get a president that leaves us even worse off.
