When you wish upon a star
remember what you say,
miracles may be happening
on every single day.
To look you may not see your wish
exactly as you speak,
but looking close enough you'll find
the answer that you seek.
Close your eyes and put to rest
the troubles of your day
remember all the faces
you have met along the way.
With just a nod or gesture
or a simple word so kind
you may have helped to sooth a soul
and to help within them find,
the reason that they looked to you
or even want to say,
they found in you the kindness
in the most uncommon way.
To you it may not seem to mind
the moment that you speak,
the troubles that they bear in mind
or the answers that they seek.
If just by chance, you've helped to guide
a friend along the way,
is it not a miracle for you to find
your happiness today?
