Array ( [sid] => 29491 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => If I were God [time] => 2003-12-16 09:33:15 [hometext] => I understand this poem more every day, each time I pray, always No reply, God go away [bodytext] => If I were God, would you pray to Me
like to the One you do
Probably not, although I'd make you free
unlike the One you knew

If I were God I would change this land
for each and all of you
If I were God I wouldn't want your hand
and there would be no pew

If I were God would you believe
or would you go irate
If I were God there'd be no grief
or no reason to hate
--------------------------------------------------------------
Do you see my point?
--------------------------------------------------------------
I'm disgraced by the thought of One
If I were God we'd all have fun
We wouldn't be what we've become
And no-one would have been created dumb
--------------------------------------------------------------
Now look at the real Man
Why should we pray
I don't think He gives a damn
He leads us to decay
Take it from the Son I am
My Suicidal ways
I think God is just a scam
Lets change our biblical days

Hi.. I've just read several of your poems but can't quite decide what your underlying message is supposed to be. Are you arguing that Heaven and Hell are misnomers? I get the feeling you are arguing that Heaven and Hell are in the here and now. I would agree with that alright. Religion for me is a philosophy which has historically evolved and transformed in a qualitative manner as social history has developed.
