[bodytext] => In labour An infant thought Pushes its way between My ears It rips the skin I scream into my pillow Sweating, regretting The act That brought me to this Another push, My body expels This idea That can now sustain itself With a life of its own It is an ugly creature A monster with bulging green eyes, And terrible white teeth already It reaches for my face With strong arms Brings me close and Whispers “You have created me Feed me your reality” I gasp in terror And realize this creature Wears my own face My reflection, Escaped from the icy world Of mirrors and windows, Is hungry and ruthless So as I bleed in the agony Of childbirth She proceeds to devour All the sanity of my existence Her life has only began As mine expires in a Bloody pile on the cold floor She has green eyes too, She will conquer and destroy, As I often should have done.
