Array ( [sid] => 30722 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => Within this reality [time] => 2004-01-04 08:10:07 [hometext] => Umm... I wasnt sure what to class this under. I wrote it for my lil cousin, she turns 10 in a few weeks.. got me thinking about what I used to dream about when I was young and you gradually those dreams faded. [bodytext] => Within this reality,
Lie my youthful fantasies,
Ideas that prance,
In and out of my mind,
Like raindrops upon winged fairies.

Those childhood toys,
Hidden in my closet,
Brought to life,
A multi-coloured animal parade,
All within my mind.

Blooming white roses,
The height of the house next door,
Swaying in the moonlight,
And the stars playing a lullaby,
To the glistening, Sleeping moon.

Those images of fairytales,
Stored within my mind,
Played out under street lamps,
Receive vigarous applause,
From the audience of gulls over head.

Music boxes,
Tinkling thier favourite tune,
To a bright eyed audience of one,
The origin of its music,
A mystery to the spectator.

The seductiveness,
Of dirt and adventure,
In forests of mile high grass,
And knee deep river-like mud,
Predators? A bug or two perhaps.

And after a day,
Of adventure and discovery,
Curl up in that bed fit for a giant,
With a plastic cup of hot coco,
And plunge into a night of fantasy. [comments] => 3 [counter] => 164 [topic] => 21 [informant] => sweet-poison [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => Lifepoems )

Absolutely wonderful, sparkling images like the sun glinting through stained glass. Took me back all of 70 yrs to that time of magic you describe. Excellent really exquisit poem.

Just a thought, reading your notes and who you wrote the poem for I thought you might enjoy one I wrote which kind of brings that era to an end for me..........It's called "That first kiss" (its about half way down page one of my list.)
