Array ( [sid] => 31652 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => Tribute [time] => 2004-01-14 12:10:01 [hometext] => This is how I would feel if I lost someone very special. This is dedicated to someone, but I will not name them. Just know that they are the greatest person I know [bodytext] => What would I do if I lost you?
I might just break down and cry,
If you weren’t in my life anymore,
I might just sit down and die,
If you had chosen another,
After all that we had,
Once we had lost one-another,
Things would start to get bad.

The feeling of losing a part of yourself,
Half of you lost to the winds,
Memories of all the best times,
When we did the most amazing things,
Times we took for granted,
Thinking it would never end,
I feel I’ve lost a brother,
Instead of just a friend.

Happy when you were here,
Upset now that you’re gone,
I thought we would last forever,
Now I’m sad I was wrong.

It’s helping just to remember,
All the good times we had,
Though you died last November,
In my memories you will never be dead.

I’m glad this is not real,
Just a dream instead,
But if I really lost you,
All these words would be said.

‘cause this is a tribute,
To a dear, dear friend. [comments] => 4 [counter] => 187 [topic] => 16 [informant] => lostinmyself [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 5 [ratings] => 1 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => FriendshipPoetry )

You made me cry. Still fighting tears and I have read it twice. A beautiful, loving tribute. My heart goes out to you regarding your loss.

Kie

I didn't know you felt this strongly for me! But seriously, "Half of you lost to the winds" is one of the most beautiful lines I've heard in a long time. As in all our early ones, rhyming does seem forced, but still good, nonetheless.
Take care,
David
