Some wounds will never heal completely but they shouldn't continuously be re-opened........... [bodytext] => I won't come in, I'll talk on the doorstep,
About the weather, the wind and the rain,
About how the government fail us
And how time flying drives us insane.

I don't want to come into the hallway,
And hear how we're here just to die,
And listen to how life's such a misery
And excuses following lie after lie.

I don't want to come into the basement,
And hear how hard it is for you to cope,
Have you cry and ask me why
And make me feel that there's no hope.

So I'll just stand here on the doorstep
And keep the chat to the wind and the rain,
Because if I keep going into the basement,
I know I'll just end up going insane. [comments] => 4 [counter] => 159 [topic] => 48 [informant] => Manda2 [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => EmotionalPoetry )

Excellent write. Sometimes I feel much the same when browsing YPDC. I am sad to see
so many unhappy young people and find I can't bear to read their poetry. Sorry.

absolutely love it..... i've been on that doorstep, afraid to even get too close to the door..... but i've also been the person holding the door shut behind me as i step out to chat, as not to let anyone look inside and ask questions..... it's safe there, but it can be unbearable....

thank u for this poem,
myrts

A suitably common expression in our insular times...more and more people are getting introverted in their expressive connections. I can understand as I am one of them. I fear even to thread in the mealstrom of the outside world in case I get sucked into some else's pain or worse engaged in my own painful encounter. It is better to stay at a distance..perhaps not the best of things but it is the better of alternatives..like no contact at all...Your work truly brings out this sentiment...
