To make her clients feel more at ease
They require the strict maximum with no smile
To make their trip to the restaurant worthwhile

They want no olives, they want no mushrooms
Better listen closely or you'll be doomed
Not too much sauce, nor too little, something decent
Better make it quick,in no time they must sprint

She makes roundtrips to their table with some coffee
Filled their cup seven, what, eight times already
They moan the coffee tastes awful,is too cold
As they look at her in disgust and scold

Finally it's time to eat,so the waitress turns to leave
"This pizza isn't cooked!"she shouts utterly peeved
"The crust is not golden,it's way too expensive for the quality!"he yells
Although the pizza is just right, she tells them she will order a new one till all is swell

The waitress brings back what they ordered
And notices their "horrible"pizza is now devoured
"We HAD to eat,we would've starved"they say irritated
"I want a discount"she snarls frustrated

The couple complain and argue more
Before remembering they had to leave for the store
They go to the cash and lie their way,cry their state
Claiming they won't come back if they don't have a rebate

They tell her one last time how horrible she is
Knowing without a fact they are completely amiss
Two pennies lie on the table, stating bad service
She frowns in disbelief as she waves them off a sarcastic kiss

Oh I loved your poem. I try to always be kind to waitresses. I imagine their job is a tough one. You expressed it well in this write. Kie

Does this happen to you? Sometimes I wonder about human nature and it disgusts me ... but anyway, great write - sometimes the best writes come from the most painful experiences ... hugs Jan

Any service business gets the worst hand dealt in dealing with the public. You captured the moment and spoke it beautifully. I have to say I'm really impressed with your cause and reaction wording. For instance..."The waitress brings back what they ordered...And notices their "horrible" pizza is now devoured." I was as tortured and displeased as the waitress. You have done an excellent job I'm so pleased reading your poetry. Thank you...

If I were that waitress, I would tell them to bend over and shove it! I'm too much of a lady to say where! Ha ha!

Humorous piece. It definitely made me chuckle!

Good write. I hate people like that. That is why I would take the complained about food from them.

If I were an empty container, and enjoyment was what I needed, then I would be a full container right now. Great insight. I must say I did liked what Jazz posted, about people like that . But getting back to your write, it was witty, insightful, and very entertaining. Give yourself a 25% tip.

My waitress’s name PumpkinPie, her service impeccable
MMMM, this pizza is yummy and edible
Manager, this waitress is great, her personality is first rate
For my food there was no long wait
What’s her name, need to know this my friend
PumpkinPie, I’m telling you again!
For all her hard work she deserves a raise
I’m leaving a large tip but give it to her anyways
The manager smiles and says a nickel an hour, as high as I’ll go
Me the customer threatens to punch his nose.
A nickel, what are you mad?!?
Fifty or more will make her glad
Okay fifty cents an hour but no more
No, I meant fifty or more dollars a day, you cheap *****
Because she deserves it for all the crap
She takes from you and these customers, you silly chap
Looking puzzled but the manager agrees, yet why do you care?
Because of customers like me, she needs to know we’re there
For when I see a manager or two
It’s not to complain but to remind them

of special people just like you :)

Oh, did I also say I just love this poem and can relate to it a lot. Loved it! Keep up the great writing.

Tim
