[bodytext] => You are the cause I contradict my own reason
That my soul reigns in winter's frigid season
That the facade of one's heart, my heart, seems so bleak
That my heart remains oblique, your love I bespeak

But all these efforts addressed to you are futile
That permitting myself to love you even though is simply torture, something brutal
I'm a chronic lover,yes I'm addicted,I can't abstain
Just a mere reflection of someone with nothing to obtain

Is there no rhyme in this world I can write for you
Is there not even an inch of your love I can subdue
Is there no way for your gaze to follow mine,to remain in your view
To find myself lost in your words,in you eyes,or better yet- in you

I'll be waiting, watching through hope for a sign
Till then, your true essence I will never define
But one thing remains the same, I plead silently :
Unto thine own self be true,if not of you,I ask of me.

I can relate. The addiction clutches like the jaws of a pitbull. Ouch. You expressed it well.

Unrequited love, a topic of the heart,
You seemed to sum it up, right there from the start,
A vivid piece of work written by and by,
Pulling at emotions, to make a person cry.

-=grin=-

Great job...

"I'll be waiting, watching through hope for a sign" How hopeful this is! How hard it is to wait. This was precious. Blessings!

Now that is a real tear jerker.

"is it possible to be unwilling to let go simply because that's the only emotion that consumes our time and energy in times like these?" My answer to this question: Yes, I believe it possible.

This is another absolutley wonderful poem and how all too well I can relate right now. I can't read any more like this tonight. Meant in a good way as this is how powerfully this poem affected me.

Thank you for sharing.

Tim

Wow..................
You hit a nerve with this one.
Sometimes I wonder why we even try.
