Array ( [sid] => 33692 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => Dear God. [time] => 2004-02-03 17:44:00 [hometext] => Based on an idea ShadowDaughter gave me. At the time I didn't think I would use it but today it was rather appealing. Anyway, it's a series of prayers from a boy who slowly loses his faith in God. [bodytext] => Dear God,
Now I lay me down to sleep.
Pray to the Lord my soul to keep.
Amen.

Dear God,
If I die before I wake,
Pray to the Lord my soul to take.
Amen.

Dear God,
Sister is sick, it's hard to tell
If she'll live, please make her well.
Amen.

Dear God,
Sister is worse, her skin is white,
Please guide her, guard her through tonight.
Amen.

Dear God,
I know you're busy, please just try,
Help her soon so she won’t die.
Amen.

Dear God,
Mother can only sit in tears,
Please give your love to ease her fears.
Amen.

Dear God,
Where are you when we pray?
Could you answer me today?
Amen.

Dear God,
Sister lies asleep, in sweat,
Why’s she dying? Did you forget?
Amen.

Dear God,
I really thought you loved her, you know,
So why then did you let her go?
Amen.

Dear God,
She died and she was just a kid,
You didn’t love her like I thought you did.
Amen.

Dear God,
Are you even listening? Can you even hear?
Do you love me, God? It’s not so clear.
Amen.

Dear God,
Either you aren’t real or ignoring me,
Just tell me now so I can live free.
Amen.

Dear God,
Mother needs your help, all she does is cry,
She hasn’t been herself since you let Sister die.
Amen.

Dear God,
You don’t care, do you?
I’ll be fine without you.
Amen.

Dear God,
It’s been a year since we spoke last,
You’re now a lie of my past.
Amen.

Dear God,
Just one last thing before I go,
I hate you God, and I want you to know.
Amen. [comments] => 1 [counter] => 203 [topic] => 11 [informant] => Suz [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 5 [ratings] => 1 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => ChristianPoetry )
