Array ( [sid] => 3422 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => My Final Plea [time] => 2002-09-06 06:36:19 [hometext] => This is quite possibly my last submission. I just don't feel like it's "in" me anymore, at least right now.
I really don't expect or even want comments to this write, I just need to vent. [bodytext] => Leaving me behind, you're backing away

You outgrow your need for me, a little every day

When I try to talk to you, you say there's nothing wrong

But this feeling is overwhelming - so strong

This thought overpowers me with its might

For my intuition is usually right

Your words at times vague, not always clear to me

All I ask for is honesty, can't you see?

I love you enough not to hold you back

What you need is something that I obviously lack

Things have changed, you can't deny

Don't insult my intelligence, it only makes me cry

I wish you'd open up, to help me understand

I realize that things rarely work out as planned

I'm not stupid, and I'm not blind

We can pretend otherwise, but you're leaving me behind

The truth is usually painful, but with this I will contend

My heart is breaking, but supposedly "it will mend"

Life's never been easy for you - always rough

You've had dismay and disappointment, more than enough

The years I have known you, I've watched you mature

Mentally you've grown so much, but you remain unsure

You've helped mend my soul, like no one in my past

The love I feel for you remains intense, vast

Of your quest for inner peace I will never stand in your way

My love will remain steady - don't dismay

What I want for you is only the best

To find someone like you, I've truly been blessed

You don't give yourself credit for the man who's inside

You've thought you're "Not Good Enough", the real "You" has been denied

Inner growth, my dear, you cannot subdue

Slay your inner demons, to thine own heart be true

I will always be here for you - of that do not doubt

No matter the outcome, my friendship remains devout

Tell me your inner thoughts, help me to see

It's my only request, it's my final plea.

Tanna, you have a gift, it will return, and when it does, you will blossom

I agree whole heartedly here with Valerie, you do have the gift to write from the heart. I hope you consider to just take a break and to return soon

"to thine own heart be true " this is a very good peom, it shows a part of life that none of the others do, the embers of the fire.
