It's growing so wonderfully old
I'm losing all my dependencies
And I'm shaking so wonderfully cold
I wish you could bring to me
All the thoughts in your head
Instead of facing your realities
You'd prefer my spirit dead
I have become a shell of darkness
I am losing the best of me
You saved me once from drowning
But now that I am needing, you've let me be
The tendrils of disaster
They curl around me fast
I fall back into my deepest slumber
I awake haunted by the past
You gave up on me so quickly
And all the people I loved
I stood upon the edge of thereafter
And I fell after it was you who shoved
Examples that will remind me
And the days I can't forget your face
I need a new world to survive in
Please, allow me to leave this place
The cold interior of your heart
It chills the warmest day
It freezes my surrender
It breaks and falls away
I wish that I could change you
Or maybe change myself
I'm really just dragging my mind through sorrow
And I wouldn't do it for anyone else [comments] => 4 [counter] => 189 [topic] => 13 [informant] => Exodus-On-Life [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => DarkPoetry )

I have sooooo been there. You've made your point and made it well. Anyone who has felt this could relate and those who haven't don't need to understand.
