Array ( [sid] => 34808 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => Fallen Angel [time] => 2004-02-13 00:19:21 [hometext] => This is a poem about one of my friends who got into a car accident and just barely made it out alive. That gave me a lot to be thankful about! [bodytext] => Fallen Angel
~~~~~~~~~~
It was a terrible car crash
I was in intensive care.
I was on death's doorstep
So everyone was there.
After visiting hours
When everyone was gone
Echoing down the hallway
I heard a beautiful song.
It was the sound of an angel
Coming to take me away
She told me I had passed in my sleep
But I told her that I wanted to stay.
I have so much to live for
I don't want to die!
She reminded me that I alreayd had
As a tear fell from my eye.
She had a look of wonder
On her flawless face.
She turned to me and said
"The wings of an angel can't be replaced."
Is she did not take me back
She would lose her wings,
She'd be an angel left behind
To gain back all of her sins.
I didn't want her to lose her wings
But that decision was up to her.
Everything from that point on
Is something of a blur.
That angel saved my life that night
I woke up surrounded by people.
They said it was a miracle
Yet it was all thanks to that fallen angel. [comments] => 4 [counter] => 260 [topic] => 48 [informant] => Aaralyn [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 5 [ratings] => 1 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => EmotionalPoetry )
