so much weight up on his shoulders
emotions make him older
but a soldier will not smolder
theres a flame inside his eyes
and its a blaze and burning high
this kind of force wont cease to rise
it wont make peace, it cannot die
and if youve seen him, then youve seen it
the kinda scar you get from dreamin
wakin up at night and screaming
your mentalitys been bleeding
from this man you cant reject
you see his eyes are lined with sweat
with remorse but lack regret
you owe and show him your respect [comments] => 3 [counter] => 681 [topic] => 43 [informant] => b_rand [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 13 [ratings] => 3 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => oops )

Very good, strong, straite to the point....
When I think soildier, I see my son, as he was in Army. It pains me every time I hear of another loss or injured.
So on a personal level I'm so happy to see someone writing about this.
While the world rocks on some folks just loose sight of what's happening on our planet.
Very good write!
luv, huggs, respect,
emy

The men/women fighting this war deserve respect and so much more. They have seen things a human never should and done things they would never have thought of doing in civilian life. The scars and dreams will remain, sadly, with them forever. We owe them undying love and gratitude. Too bad the government doesn't appreciate what they are doing. They just keep cutting their benefits and showing less respect all the time. I love and admire our men/women of the military.
