I saw a stranger in disguise.
He looked like the type of guy who tries
to understand life and situations, realise!
Not bound by this so called mortal coil
he didnt take part in the human toil;
he liked to take care of the soil
but within his veins the blood did boil!
I asked his name and he slowly said 'Time'
by all accounts his name is fine!
He gave me a gift, told me it was mine
but was thin on the details, like twine!
'Do with it what you will,' he said to me
'with this gift you will have a chance to be!'
Ignorantly I decided to nod mysteriously
with a knowing expression I said 'I see?!'
As his hands extending with his glowing gift
I could sense the inexpressible lift
that was about to give my existance a twist
and so I fell, face first, into the mist.
Darkness took me, I span.. and then
I saw the disguised strangers face again.
'Too long has this world been raped by men,
things are about to change! You'll know when!
As the stars fortell it shall begin
when men come to see their "progress" as sin!'
And so he threw me, hard, with a little grin!
I flew into the light, arms out, in a spin.
The first little blur was fairly hazey
but there was others to look after the lazy.
Then sense began to bloom, like a daisy
in the middle of an ocean! (Crazy?)
Although the gift was a tiny bit painful
that's not to say I wasn't grateful!
Suddenly I had not no time, but a day full!
Seems this mysterious stranger is playful!
I see him now and then, though his face has changed
sometimes it looks positively deranged!
His gift was true, not slightly stained
it's great to see how far his generosity ranged! [comments] => 0 [counter] => 178 [topic] => 31 [informant] => dreama [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => StoryPoetry )

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
