And that’s a good thing I’ll admit
There’s good and bad in all of us
It’s just how much of it

George Bush is not evil
In fact he could be a friend
Let’s be nice and say he does his best
And will do that ‘till the end...

But has he got the right stuff
The knowledge and the brain?
Has he got the insight
to really take the strain?

I’m sure he can easily cope
With issues black and white
But when it gets more complex
He struggles to get it right

Let’s look at his decisions
And some of what he said
Because through his actions
Many now are stone dead

Whether you think he’s right or wrong
The above is still a fact
And they weren’t ALL bad folks
That got wasted in Iraq

I will say this he got it right
In September 11’s wake
He didn’t rush to war
He spent the time to take

A long hard look
at what he should do
There WAS some consultation
I will admit that's true

Afghanistan was hit
Perhaps quite rightly
But the Taliban were not al Qaeda
The death count rises nightly

The target of the Afghan attack
is still around they say
And last night another copter fell
This war is STILL in play

And then we come to Iraq
And a catalogue of error
No WMD, no Nukes, no Threat
No link to global Terror

The target was no longer al Qaeda
Bush took his eye off the ball
He created in place of a secular state
An Islamic one is all

More than that it’s a recruiting ground
For al Qaeda and their friends
For fifty years and even more
We’ll never see the end

Of all the trails to further fracture
In a land already rent
By Israel and Palestine
More rage they will vent

Is this protecting America?
If so from what?
Did Bush listen to biased voices
In this trap so blindly caught?

The whole world after 9/11
Were as one and agreed
That America needed help
And wished you all God Speed

But observe what Bush
in fact TRULY achieved
The world AGAINST America
and NEW innocents now are grieved

Two wrongs don’t make a right
And many more have died
Sep 11 times ten perhaps
Because some people lied

Okay, on being balanced
Let's say Bush did his best
He really thought it would work out
When he set out on this quest

But as the boys come home
Hurt and crazed and sad
Listen to their stories
You’ll see this thing was bad

Wrongheaded and stupid
From the very start
In our complex world
The head should rule the heart

The thing he started may NEVER end
And there really WAS a chance
To hold the world consensus
To end this terror dance

But now that goodwill
Is well and truly lost
Bush let us down, one and ALL
And who KNOWS
what that will COST...
