listless gnawing on faded bones
what use is it
to keep on going
worthless subject
has no being
not attracting light
but sinking out of sight
a new beginning
calls my name
stubbornly
i drag me heels
refusing to look up
afraid of the challenge
the energy required
to take the next step
so much easier to lie down
feigning tiredness
while you fuss over me
spoon feeding me
the palatable past
kindly omitting my transgressions
we face uncertainty
at waking
what this day will bring
only fate can tell
and she is no friend to me

Another excellent write Gaille. You captured Mondays perfectly. I love the lines " only fate can tell and she is no friend to me".

Why is it that I relate to so much of your poetry? Maybe I am reading it all wrong, but in almost every poem I feel like you have had many of the same life experiences I've had.
If you lived nearby, I'd say we have to do lunch.
