Each person must face dark times in their lives. It is during these times that we reflect on what took place and move on. This poem describes in a way these moments. ________________________________ [bodytext] => In the park on autumns eve, below the leafless trees, The grassy knolls lay all around and help to calm the breeze. Stony paths meander heading nowhere in the dark, But on these paths we’ll wander, no stranger to the park. Black clouds roll in above our heads bringing gentle rain, As the yellow rose begins to drink and stretches forth again. The melodies of yesterday are floating on the air, And the touch of rising mist on skin reminds us how they cared. The autumn’s eve is the ending of a season or a day, The leafless trees show emptiness where once there was a way. The grassy knolls our memories, when times were much more clear, The breeze our stinging pain, that which brought us here. The stony paths’ the course we set when we travel back in time, As we travel between our memories in the park that is our mind. Black clouds they are the sorrows that have brought us to the pain, And the sadness that engulfs us is the gently falling rain. A yellow rose gives promise of a new beginning soon, And as it stretches forth again a hope begins to bloom. The melodies remind us of the things we held so dear, And songs of love that we once shared will never disappear. The rising mist a gentle touch so gentle and demure, Will be shared again eventually of this you can be sure. But do not stay forever underneath these clouds so dark, For outside its walls, true love does call to take you from the park.
