And good friends we became
So much in common
We're almost the same
Although I'm in England
And you're from Down Under
We've similar interests
Like lightening and thunder

We both like to party
Go dancing on tables
Our heads in a spin
And our bodies unstable
We'll have such a laugh
When we're out on the town
Drinking and giggling
But not falling down

We've both got 2 kids
Although yours a bit older
And you're in the warm
And I'm so much colder
We both love John Edwards
And that Colin Fry
We've asked him some questions
Still waiting for a reply

You like to paint
And I like to write
When I get up in the morning
Where you are it's night
And since we've been talking
We've both hit hard times
With sorrow and unhappiness
Your problems were mine

But you listened to me
And helped all you could
It helped that you cared
And that you understood
So, now I believe
We are very good friends
To brighten up each others days
With messages we send

I can't wait to meet you
Next year will be great
I'm sooo impatient
It's the waiting I hate
But it'll be worth it
I'll wait with a sigh
We'll be oh so excited
On a natural high

So, Dallas for now
Thanks for being my friend
You make me smile and feel happier
And that's what counts in the end

I was hit with a preconception of a texan soap opera, but nevermind . . .
This poem is rhymed almost to perfection, as I know it came straight from the heart, with your now familiar wit and humour, looking forward to good times . . .
A Lovely poem. Hope you two have the best of times . . .
