First consider the Vanir
The wives of Odin, Thor and Loki.

For in this sense
Doeskin is different from Dove
Which is the colour of the Frost Giants.

Doeskin in linked with the land spirits
Of mountains and lakes
And with dead ancestors in the earth.

Women with prophetic gifts
Who visit homes practicing divination
And foretelling children’s destinies
Often have ships and wild boars as their symbols
And Doeskin as their colour.

Doeskin exists in all societies
Often under the auspices of religion
But sometimes outside or in opposition to it
As under Christianity
Which has generally opposed Doeskin.

A thunderstorm is Doeskin
As is the smile of a child
The ocean floor
And the Wilderness.

Doeskin can be found in a rainforest
Or a mirror.

You can find Doeskin in a puppy
Or a legend
Or by just lying under the stars.

Doeskin is a daydream
Music
Your lover’s eyes.

You can discover Doeskin by believing in magic
By caring for our planetary brothers
Or in a conversation with a bag lady

Doeskin is a person who’s ahead of his time

The death of a loved one is Doeskin
As is a small bet on a pensioner’s card game

Doeskin can be a deserted beach
A lake
A secret prayer pond
A moon lodge
A field of honey-coloured wheat
Or your own back porch.

You can discover Doeskin by loving a Gypsy girl
Or by stumbling upon a white buffalo
Or by dancing around your bones on the edge of existence.

To me it is the purity of perfection. The strength yet gentleness of the land and spirits of our earthly guides. True love and perfect sunsets and the light in a childs eyes when they are filled with glee. Total beauty in the form or perfection.
