‘They’ being the ones who can see past my silent frame.
Everyone else took me at face value,
They fell for my act,
My masquerade.
So here I am,
I am back in the company of the same faceless faces.
The same cold, heartless Devil is staring through my eyes
To the very depths of my soul,
Sucking the life out of me.
Naked, they have ripped me of my dignity.
A pathetic, flawed body stands before the jury,
Lined in scars, burns and scratches.
No limb is safe when I’m near a knife.
They listen to me,
Pleading, begging my case.
They listen as I cry, as I scream,
As I scratch at my skin.
I say listen,
I mean laugh.
They laugh and jeer at me,
Like I’m some sort of joker at a festival.
Finally, I’m finished, I cannot continue to weep.
Quicker than the last time they are ready with my verdict.
But their faces say it all.
No remorse,
No sorrow as they read it out.
“Appeal… Denied.”
And again, the same soulless figures,
The same spider-like hands grip my now ruined arms,
And I’m thrown into this swirling vortex of hatred,
Pain.
Blood.
Cuts.
Failed suicides.
Kicked out to continue my worthless life.

'swirling vortex of hatred'....awsome awsome imagery. not a metaphore i would have ever thought of but that just makes it even more creative! i can't wait to read more of your poetry!

Both poems were exceptional. I seemed to favor the second one more so as well. You have expressed a flair for drama. I like it. Kie
