I didn’t know where to start.
All I had left was a cleaned out broken heart.
Our distance had always been just miles.
And now the time had come,
And I knew I would be leaving in just a little while.

Waking this morning to be greeted bathed in sunlight,
The first thing I saw were her sympathetic eyes.
And I had just began to realize…
Just how much I loved her.

I tried to write the letter,
But a tightened chest for her was all I had.
She had said she was sorry for the way she had acted,
But I knew the way she acted was just not her style.
I finished writing the rest of my words.
I would be leaving in just a little while.

She met me at the track.
I was holding a single ticket in hand.
She had stood beside me always,
Even to the end.
The only things that I can see when she’s looking back at me,
Is the promises of how life could be.

I had only a few minutes before I was to leave.
I was lucky to say these things as my chest began to heave…
I love you now, and even when I get on that train.
I will think of you every day.
Please stop by if you ever come by way.

She hugged me and smiled,
And I made my leave.
I sat in my seat only wandering why,
Why this girl loved me so,
And I laughed until I cried.

I bestowed upon her that letter.
I just hope that she could see.
All the words on that paper…
It was completely white…
But at least she has a letter to remind her of this difficult good-bye.
