She wrote in detail about the weather
Asking whether or not
I would get a chance
to come home this year
The thought of not being able
to be there again
Is just too much to bear
I'm longing for my homeland

Images of hanging out
together in the summertime
Didn't take long to
come back back to my mind
How I miss those neverending nights
Staying in my heart even though the lights
Were marking the coming of the day
I'm longing for my homeland

The boy who said he'll wait for me
I really want to know how he's been
What changes did he go through
The ones that are for him unseen
I pray he didn't lose hope
And isn't holding someone elses hand
When I'm longing for my homeland

Feelings no other city will replace
Lives I touched
And I wonder if I left a trace
Will I be able to recognize
What I left behind
And I hope it won't be hard to find
The place where my heart still lies
My homeland longing just never dies [comments] => 2 [counter] => 259 [topic] => 44 [informant] => New_York_Chick [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 0 [associated] => [topicname] => Nostalgic )
