In the old dance halls
Not caring what the future held
Nor of the coming dark Hun hordes.

We would walk in the gardens
Make love in the park
As white clouds sailed o’ head
Of children, we’d remark.

You are taken from me now
By Jerry’s brutal blitz
I remember the night well
When I kissed your bloodied lips.

I fly my weapon through the air
Sending hatred and despair
In the form of deadly flame
To a mother’s son up there.

My pain I feel, does not subside
As I see their last death spin
Nor will it ever end
When this war we win.

A quiet time I dream of
One day when I can fly
My beautiful Merlin engined steed
Through white clouds up in the sky.

But in each white cloud I see your face
With your smile that will never fade
I dream of what could have been
And what we could have made.

My friend, I could read your war stories over and over and never tire of them.

Very, very well done
Barkeep, a drink for this talented man

War is always devastating for both side, no matter who wins. This is a very deep and powerful write which describes an evil destroying our world today. War only begats war.
