[bodytext] => Winds whip past my tossled hair, Anxious eyes sat back t'wards land Breathing in the sweet sea air Sword still clutched tightly in my hand My heart races as the adrenaline dies And I walk to to the front of the ship Eyes raised heavenward to colorful skies My stomach from the chase continued to flip Stolen treasures low beneath deck Hidden from sight from any man I'd hidden them well, there's no need to check, We'd make it safely to new land Once I knew we were far from the shore I managed to relax and clean my sword I sigh as I find it more soiled than before New things with this friend I'd come to explore Suddenly all things went black As one had attacked from behind I should have expected some sort of attack I wondered why it hadn't come to mind My own hands tied, bound in chains My mouth was gagged in dirty sheets Now my rebellious will is all that remains As I watch the coming of opposing fleets I struggled in anger as they finished up They'd found the treasures i'd hidden so well From diamonds, gold, and expensive syrups They took it all, for keeps and sell They pulled me around and laughed in my face Messed with my hair and teased They'd killed all my companions in their own disgrace In their accomplishments they did seem pleased Once they finished with taking all They made sure I was still tied up tight Overboard they pushed, and I did fall My eyes were closed, Now black as night I did not yell and i did not scream As I plunged to the depths of the bottomless sea I instead went in dignity I would not let them see fear in me So is my life, taking without asking I had all I wanted whenever I chose So ended my life, taken without asking All is fair, I would suppose [comments] => 1 [counter] => 178 [topic] => 31 [informant] => katzie [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => StoryPoetry )
