I never gave life a chance, I didn't grow
Friendship was something that I did not know
But you reached out to me
And made my eyes see
You gave me confidence, faith, and hope
Now with life's troubles I have learned to cope
You made me who I am
From my old self I ran
You made me a human being
And now I am seeing
What I missed all those years
And as I shed new tears
Tears of JOY mixed with LONGING, I cannot deny
The love in my eyes
That love is for you
For EVERYTHING you HAVE DONE and WILL DO
Oh! How i LONG to repay you by giving you all of my heart
For my dear, you've had it from the very start
Oh! How I long to repay you with my love
For YOU ARE AN ANGEL sent from above
Oh! How I lONG for you to feel the same
Oh! How I LONG to share your last name
For my love will stay with me for a very long time
And I wish that you would not keep your heart from mine
