Always

Once I was a king
Sitting upon the throne of her heart
Gladly she gave me all that was hers
I lacked for nothing

Ahh but that was yesterday
When our dreams were vivid and new
Before they became obscured by hurt and regret
Love was still pure

Today I am lost and searching
Looking for the only heart who holds
All the visions of love
Created in our joy

Hoping against hope that she
Still wants to be found by me
Still wants me to love her
As I want to be loved by her

Without her life is tepid at best
But with her life is full of wonder
Tho frustrating between our times
I feel she needs me as I need her

I pray she knows how much she means to me
Even if I never sit on the throne of her heart again
I hope she knows that I am and will be
In love with her always

Russ

Russ, this is lovely. I do sincerely hope you find her again, or at least a love as strong.
