i was there once
i might be there again
one day

nothing ever stays the same
things change, you know?
is it so wrong?
would it be so bad
if i were the change?
if i actually vied for happiness

life's about moving on
adapting, sorta
where do you draw the line?
when do you stop suffering
to sate the guilt?
when do you start living for yourself?

why can't i answer any of my own questions
when i have so many answers
for everyone else's?
why can't i just...

i was there once
i might be there again
one day...
sometime...

it's not so bad
if you can just forget
if you can keep those faces
from looking so hurt
so accusing
if you can just keep those ***** faces
out of your mind

it's not so bad

across the room
our hands still touch
but nothing's the same
if it ever was
will it ever make sense
when i put it to pen?
will i ever feel
a real smile again?

how much do i owe?
how much must i pay?
how long before the guilt goes away
never fades
just grows each day
it's kinda funny
but i forgot how to laugh

is it so wrong?
what's left that is right?

once you've gone on so long
it's just habit, you know?
you just can't stop yourself
it's comfortable
you learn to love the hell you live
or at least accept it
complacency
like liquid in your lungs
weighing you down
drowning you

tepid little pool of life
i just stagnate within
wanting more
craving...
