Standing there looking back at me with nothing much to say
Except I love you, I want you, No way we could be wrong
I look at you and I see right to your soul
And baby what I see there is me...
I shut my eyes, couldn't believe what I saw
Opened them back up, you were still looking back at me
I put my hand to my heart, and you did the same
I blinked my eyes, you just wouldn't go away
You said I want you, I need you, I know you feel the same
Look at me and see right to my soul
And baby what you'll see there is me...
You took my hand in yours and held on tight
We stood there side by side looking at each other
Only one thing left to do and that was look into your eyes
And say I need you, I love you, I know this can't be wrong
I'll look at you and see right to your soul
And baby what I'll see there is you and me...

oh well it is just u seem to come across so knowledgeable about god and re the bible and how u should follow your heart u said in someones poem as a comment but if u know all about the bible is actually says not to lean upon your own understanding and that the heart is treacherous..so if u know so well about it this u would know....okey dokey

The heart may be a treacherous thing..but you know..the heart is how we discover our love for God as well as our love for everything else. And the idea that I am knowledgeable about God and the bible has absolutely nothing to do with my telling someone to follow their heart. But since you decided to throw the two together..let me say this...My heart has indeed led me into treacherous situations, so to say. I have ended up in some pretty bad relationships. But when it all comes down to it..I would follow my heart anyday. Because nothing I have ever learned in life has been without some sort of cause and effect going on in the background. And in my eyes, there is no lesson learned that isn't a good one. If we didn't follow our heart..and allow ourselves to learn from our experiences..we would never further ourselves in our lives....we would just be at a standstill. So treacherous or not...follow it...

Foolish to be lead into treachery by treacherous hearts......the bible says we should be shrewd which means not to walk blindly straight into a situation or to be lead by the heart

Oh would you give it up already. I would much rather be foolish then pass a chance for love any day...

Where would we be today if the Lord had not followed his heart and shown His love and mercy to us through the death of His Son Jesus Christ? In scripture we read that we should "Love" our neighbors as ourselves and that God is love. How can we love if we do not follow our hearts?

Life is trecherous does this mean we should not live as well? No the Bible does not teach that we shouldn't follow our heart, rather it show that it 'can' be trecherous and so we should be careful not to sin in our pursuit of love.

Lia, I'm sorry for turning this into a debate but I guess that your poem has obviously had enough passion that it stirred up this debate.

Keep up the good work.

Anonymous,
