Beaten, covered in dry, salty tears
Let there be freedom from self-doubt
With every added disappointment- my heart starts to shout.

Fist full of nothing, surrounded by mud
Tears on my face dissolve into blood
Challenge yourself to achieve more then this
Save every breath for that long awaited last kiss.

Misplaced emotions on a hard bed of need
Someone somewhere on knees that bleed
Complain of honor wasted on shame
Standing is hard with no one I can blame.

Crave attention, get it in any way
Pray the nightmares disappear today
Fingers shaking, head is spinning
Never let them know who is winning.

This, Lindsey, is one seriously fantastic, amazing, excellent, exquisite, impressive, (gotta check my thesaurus, but you get the idea) poem. In just a few deft words you capture so much . . . damn, but you're good.

It's amazing (in a very dark way) how so much can be said about the concept of emptiness, how perfectly imperfection can be portrayed. I have to marvel at your ability as a writer.

Truly,
-V.S.

Hey, wow, this is good. I can certainly understand why someone might choose to steal this particular poem (not that it's right).

This poem rocks Lindsey and I'm glad that you got everything straightened out!!
