You see through to their soul... purity, love, innocence...no lies
The complete love and trust that lies there within
To lose it as we grow, must be the GREATEST of our sins...

And isn’t it so beautiful, seeing the children of ours
Out in the playground, just playing there for hours
Friendships so innocent, nothing to go wrong
The love unconditional, and still going so strong...

But then we do grow up, through the pain and stress
We’re hurt by emotions... friends... lovers, we lose what is best
The trust that we then had, that no one could burn
Has now gone forever, oh so why didn’t we all learn...

Wouldn’t it be good, if we could all just retain
What we once had in youth, and live with love, trust, harmony...and no pain...

This is so true. I often...like everyday, wish I could turn back the hands of time and return to that innocence. Where men weren't abusers and people could be trusted. Even though maybe people were just as bad, we just weren't aware of it. I think there is a part of everyone that wished they could have that feeling again.
Beautiful!

Wow..you hit a notch for me tonite with this Mick. Having a bad evening I suppose you could say. Yes it would be nice if we could all maintain the innocence of our younger years..before we all knew better. Seems the smarter we all get..the dumber we get at the same time...

I really enjoyed reading this. It's real and you tell it like it really is in a technique that shows to be straight to the point! Awesome!

Mick, this is a great write. It seems that innocense is lost when you get older. It's a painful world to bring our children up in today. *S* Cynthia
