Array ( [sid] => 44053 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => Anticipation [time] => 2004-04-20 13:51:19 [hometext] => I wrote this almost 3 years ago, the night before someone I cared for was due home after being away for a year...I wondered how we'd react, what we'd say especially about how our lives had changed in the intervening time. hope you like... [bodytext] => It is the eve.

In anticipation
The will has abandoned
To decipher which or whether,
How to feel.
Tired, restless,
So unsure.

Having pondered this moment,
This eventuality...
The reality scares me
Into an unknown quantity
Of fear.

Questions, fast and furious,
Flood my weary mind.
The answers, slow,
Trail behind
And only ever find their source
In you.

You've taken more than you need of me
And what remains:
An empty shell
Of the girl I was,
Created in a haste of
November.

And so many thoughts,
The tales to tell
And the truth delivered
In a breath of your honesty
....Or more mine,
As I lie in wait
Of tomorrow. [comments] => 2 [counter] => 153 [topic] => 22 [informant] => reilt [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => LostLove )

This poem was touching to my heart. It struck a similiar chord of memories. I thought it was very well composed and was great to read.
