Didn’t enter the school with all of you
I was still at home when hell broke lose

I wasn’t there as you ran and screamed for your lives
Or played dead in the library
I didn’t see the guns or hear the cries of the wounded

I didn’t have to make the choice to lie or die
How scared you all must have been
Not knowing if you were next

Back in my home I was just entering my school
As the police were finally entering yours
I had no idea that two young boys could cause so much pain

I can’t imagine the pain you feel
As the day approaches
I know you don’t want it to happen again

That is why I write this poem
Not to dwell on such a sad event
But to make sure it doesn’t happen again

I watched a documentary about this the other night with footage caught on the schools cameras. It was heartbreaking. It made me wonder what happened to the parents of the boys who massacred all those kids in such a tragic way? They never mentioned them.

Your poem touched really touched my heart.

Well done.

Kie

powerful and emotional once again. another poem that shows your great talent as a writer. to make sure it doesnt happen again, you have to make sure the reasons it happens dont exist.
