Array ( [sid] => 45374 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => Wishing Away [time] => 2004-04-29 09:35:45 [hometext] => #9 in my Avril series, inspired by Things I'll Never Say. About how it feels to love somebody so much you hate them... or maybe it's hating somebody so much you love them... ? [bodytext] => I'm keeping my mouth shut
I'm not saying what's on my mind
I'm trying hard to breathe
Though inside I just want to scream
I'm staring at the wall
My jaw is clenched, I'm not smiling
I'm digging for the will
To pretend everything is fine

I'm seeing red
Trying to be happy
'Cause I know that's what you think I should be

But if I had my way I'd throw you to the ground
Force you to taste my tears, bathe your hands in my blood
Break everything until the walls come crashing down
And tell you everything I'm not allowed to say

But I know that won't do
I just can't afford to lose you
And I'm wasting my time
Dying so slowly, day by day
And I don't make a sound
Here within my hiding corner
And neither of us moves
We're stuck, not getting anywhere

I'm missing you
Trying so hard to find you
'Cause I know, I hope, you're in there somewhere

But if I had my way I'd hide inside your mind
Find solace in your arms and stay there forever
Ask you to promise me you'll never go away
And lay with me under the stars for just one night

Something is wrong
Nothing feels right
Slipping away
I disappear
Won't you save me?
Can't you see me?
Don't you feel me?
I guess I'm gone

You know there's nothing to say that hasn't been said
But the silence in my head is too loud to bear
And there's nothing to do, it's the same old story
So I'll leave here tonight and wish it all away [comments] => 3 [counter] => 685 [topic] => 48 [informant] => MoonlitAngel [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 14 [ratings] => 3 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => EmotionalPoetry )

I've never heard the song but from the way you write, it must be pretty darn good. The miserable feelings and frustration well placed into words. This poem is a perfect example that poems do not need to rhyme for it to be a masterpiece. 'Force you to taste my tears, bathe your hands in my blood' - this line was pretty chilling. Great job.
