Array ( [sid] => 45763 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => My Escape [time] => 2004-05-01 16:44:28 [hometext] => I told some one last night the sleeping was a deppressants way of escaping reality... And so I had the idea for this... [bodytext] => Shades of gray,
Paint the world,
As I find my escape.
Crawl in bed,
Close my eyes,
Let it melt away.
Sleep all day,
Sleep all night,
It doesn't seem right.
The dreams come,
They swallow me whole.
Reality far from sight.
My release,
Abandoning the burdens,
Depressions cease.
For a few hours,
Enjoying life.
Away from all the strife.
Then I wake,
And I cry,
Bidding Good bye.
To the dream,
Lovely dream
That was my retreat.
I'm awake,
And I see,
It just can't be.
But it's true,
Though not fair,
My life's the nightmare.......... [comments] => 4 [counter] => 236 [topic] => 13 [informant] => crys [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 5 [ratings] => 1 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => DarkPoetry )

Wonderful! Highest compliments. That was great! Brings up some good points too. I write songs and if you don't mind I would love to use your ideas as a song if that would be alright. Either way, great poem and I encourage you to keep writing.

I've always been amazed by the idea of escapism, and i used to love napping as a way to get rid of stress and bring peace to a hard day... Keep exploring this idead of sleeping, and there's no telling what kind of powerful emotions and ideas you'll find. Keep up the good work. Butterat Zool.
