Array ( [sid] => 46070 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => The Gift of Death [time] => 2004-05-03 20:32:41 [hometext] => This poem is something I wrote to give an example of what probably went through the minds of the Jews in concentration camps during the Holocaust, it is dedicated to them. [bodytext] => One left, only me
looking at the moon, pale as a corpse.
Looking at the great fiery beast of the crematorium blaze.
The blaze, like the many colors of Joseph's coat.
I tell of the fire in the night and the brief glimpse of
the burning dead.
I await my Death.
The Death that I will be thankful for,
the Death that will free me from this nest of horrors.
I think of the little ones,
the ones who are now so thoroughly cremated.
I sorrow so for those little ones,
the ones who suckled on panic and fear instead of mothers milk.
So the fire consumed the dead, it consumed my faith-
Forever!
Angel of Death come to me.
Angel of Fire come for me.
Embrace me with your wings of Wrath.
I ask of you to end this nightmare because I could not stop
a single bullet, nor save a single life.
But soon the fire will lick my flesh,
and free me only in Death.
Now quickly take me from this blight,
and join me with God the only Light! [comments] => 4 [counter] => 183 [topic] => 55 [informant] => Immortal_Romance [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 17 [ratings] => 4 [editpoem] => 0 [associated] => [topicname] => dedicatedpoems )
