Run against the rushing current
with all your power and might.
Have a conversation
with in the place called self.
When all others forsake you
Go on by your self.
Cry tears to your best friend
when friends use and leave you.
Believe that faith sustains man
even when faith has failed you.
When the enemy with in seem to smash you
turn to the enemy with out.
Go where you must go.
Do what you must do.
If you want to know.
The answers all lie before you
the crucible, the stake,
The rack, the club, the anvil,
the hatchet and the mace.
Pick one, we'll go into battle
even to our deaths,
for that is the type of friends we are,
if you want to know.

So true, there is no other place like yourself to retreat to when nothing seems to go right. I really loved this piece

I liked this. I hope I read it right when I say that, to me, it describes the struggle within and without. I understand that struggle. : - ) I rage that battle everyday! Write on,Archie!

I like this. I believe that we are the only person we can depend on 100% in this world. Our faith can sustain us spiritually but physically we have to stride forward with total faith in our own strength, not having to rely on others for it. This is a strong write.

This is awesome Archie. I love your words.

The first four lines really hit me, they say a lot to me.

Great write,
*hugs*
