Array ( [sid] => 46302 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => The Perfect Person [time] => 2004-05-05 15:28:31 [hometext] => I wrote this poem one day my junior year of high school when I was feeling stressed and just tired of everyone counting on me all the time when I had problems of my own to deal with. [bodytext] => She feels as though she is in a little boat lost at sea,
This is how she feels though how can that be?
She is a straight A student and an inspiration to all,
Though she feels at any moment she will be the one to fall.
She is the one that all the other students look up to,
But inside she is so unsure of what to do.
She has money and a lot of friends,
Though every day she feels like making her life end.
In a world where most people think money and popularity are so great,
All she feels is emptiness and hate.
She is tired of everyone thinking her life is the best,
She wishes they could all see that her life is more like a test.
A test to make sure she stays at the top and obeys everyone’s expectations,
She wishes that her connection would be anything else but this relation.
She would like to tell people that money and popularity doesn’t bring you happiness all the time,
Sometimes you can be more happy not being popular and with only a dime.
She would like to let them know how depressed all this pressure makes her feel,
But she is unsure of how they will deal.
How will they deal when they hear how the valedictorian is about to break down?
How will they feel to see her not smiling like always but having a frown?
How will they deal when she says she feels her world is crumbling down?
How will they deal when she is named prom queen and doesn’t accept her crown?
She chooses not to tell a single soul, keeping her feelings all inside.
After all, school will be over in a few months so she only has a little more time left to hide.
