Is it that they're afraid of something new? [bodytext] => To know it ends in bitterness
To know this love never had a chance
Is it that I crave these endings
Or maybe I pretend

And every time we try
We end up smacking the smiles from our faces
To replenish something once sacred
We replace this love with hatred

You remind me of what it is to breathe
A reminder of sensuality
A sweet reality
You instill this life right into me

And I hate you for it

And we always crawl back for more abuse
Maybe I just love the use
And the pain that you infuse
Often leaving me confused

It’s the heartache that I miss
You’re twisting me with painful bliss
As with your kiss
The tender touch of a fist

You remind me of what it is to teethe
A reminder of scraped knees
A painful reality
You squeeze the life right out of me

And I love you for it.

It is a horrible way to live and love but I think that some people don't believe they deserve any more and are afraid to try a different way of life in case they prove themselves to be right. It is a hard concept for most of us to accept but some just do not have good self esteem and have been beaten down so much they are appreciative of even an occasional notice, even if it is a black eye or a broken nose .
