Array ( [sid] => 46457 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => Sand between My Toes [time] => 2004-05-06 21:43:47 [hometext] => I thought up this poem once while walking to the beach and i was laughing with my friends about how the sand gets into everything even...between the toes-enjoy [bodytext] => As many as the stars in the sky,
As huge and as limitless as land
As boundless and as vast as the sea
Infinite and abundant is the sand

Delicate to the touch
Silken, soft and sleek
Yet coarse and rough to my skin
When I rub it on my cheek

As the ocean flows upon it
The sand ripples like a sea of wheat
Swaying softly with the wind
The sand wrinkles beneath my feet

Running lightly over every grain
Of sand scorched by the sun
Panting and hot so rapidly
Resting before I’ve begun

Seeping through my shoes
Even creeping between my toes
Into every cleft and crevice
Is where the sand goes.

The sand has been here forever
Secured by time like a girth
Regally since creation
Sits the sand upon the earth.

We used to go to the beach every summer and I was always amazed at how it got into the strangest places. I love the feel of warm wet sand between my toes. I love this poem.
