and pieces there
built from grave mistakes
so lithe and pale
like a whisper of winter
a secret from the cold

wasteland of skin
stitched and snipped even
dressed in the dozens of birthday suits
she was created from

patches of neglected flesh
have peeled off here and there
but even the sight of molded bone
is like a forbidden glimpse of paradise

those blue lips set
in a curious smile
a dead mona lisa
but a far greater work of art

my prosthetic angel
my patchwork queen
my most beautiful creation
a breathless breath taker
a broken butterfly
the bride i never found among the imperfect

pieces from here
pieces from there
built from open grave mistakes
mysterious and pale
behind the bridal veil
adorned in musty white
like a starless winter night
a secret kiss stolen
from the very depths of hell [comments] => 5 [counter] => 222 [topic] => 13 [informant] => Cancer [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 15 [ratings] => 4 [editpoem] => 0 [associated] => [topicname] => DarkPoetry )

Perhaps you should reconsider your viewpoint. Is she perfect because you think it should be so, or because of your indoctrinated tendencies? now would be a good time to question who you actually are and what you are actually doing.

Without taking this too literally, *grins* I'd say that this is an excellently written work, which both evokes revulsion at the imagery, and gentle wonder at the ideas and emotion that lies behind it.
5 stars.

I loved the title, I loved the poem, the vivid imagery, the beautiful wording, and the darkness all simply creating another masterpiece. Welldone

Voice-of-Revolution,
I think your comment was rather out of place and ridiculous. Perfection is perfection regardless of indoctrination or opinion. Perfection is personal and cannot be denied externally.

I don't think he needs to challenge who he is or his viewpoints. Perhaps you do.

I thought it was very well written. The fragments of words and sentences likened very much to the patchwork beauty described there within.

=)
