You say that you need no one
But its a lonely road to take
Wholl watch your back, tell you its ok
When you find the mistakes youre bound to make
Wholl share with you the good times
But more importantly, the bad
You stand alone, with broken wings
Wishing for something youve never had
They say the eyes are the gateway to the heart
And yours are filled with pain
Quietly, you pull up your hood
And step into the hard cold rain
Secluded beneath your foreboding exterior
Hides desperation and fear of the unknown
You shroud your eyes and harden your heart
Because at the end of the day, you know youll stand alone.
