Array ( [sid] => 47399 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => Dancing My Heart Away [time] => 2004-05-13 18:38:53 [hometext] => I originally wrote this for English class, but it became my baby. It has become one of my favorite poems that I've ever written. I hope you enjoy it too! [bodytext] => The most comfortable place for me to be
Is on the stage
Dancing my heart away.

Wandering here, wandering there,
Graceful as a butterfly
Flying in the air.

No one can I see,
Staring back at me.
For in my mind,
The people have all gone.

No more sound of scuffling feet.
Rustling curtains become still.
No longer are all the smells of the theater
Vivid in my mind.

All noise from backstage is gone.
The little girls
Who are usually giggling,
Are now quiet,
As they watch,
In awe of what they see.

As I start to dance,
I feel the wooden floor
Creaking beneath my feet.

Now I feel at home,
Now I can be me --
Now I am on stage.
Dancing my heart away.

Meg, this is really good. I like the imagery in it. (and no, I didn't mean for you to cry twice!)
