Array ( [sid] => 47483 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => Forever Young [time] => 2004-05-14 10:38:31 [hometext] => Written for my nephews friends service we made copies to pass out to everyone. He was 20 years old when he passed. [bodytext] => I know in time you will understand,
why this had to be,
then you can reach for my hand,
and we'll be forever free,
Although my life was not so long,
and thats hard for you to bare,
things in life sometimes go wrong,
and you think its not fare,
we will never have to say Good bye,
Just I'll see you once again,
Forever Young,in Heaven I'll fly,
for this is not my end,
All those memories I gave to you,
in just a short 20 years,
remebering them will help you through,
and bottle up all the tears,
I know now it doesnt seem clear,
and your left asking WHY?
An explanation why I cant be here,
Is just it was my time to die,
I'll be waiting to see you all once more,
so try not to cry for me,
soon we'll be together at Heavens door,
together for eternity.

Such a short life, a real tragedy.
I had a cousin who passed away at only 19 so I can identify with this one.

What a horrible thing to happen so young. This is a beautiful poem. We must wonder what God's plan is to take him so young. He takes the best of the best you know. I am sorry for such a loss in your lives. God bless and give you understanding and love.

Rita

Bless your heart! I am so sorry . I lost a cousin to cancer when she was only nine. Nothing is worse than going to a funeral of one who is young or in their early twenties for they still have a whole lifetime ahead of them to live. God Bless you and your family.
love~n~hugs
Emily

Time and unforseen occurrences befall all mankind the Bible says. We are at the wrong place at the wrong time.....or time finally catches us with us and we die old.
Beautifully written poem Christina. This must have been so hard on your nephew and your family.......I can just imagine how hard it is on this young man's family.
Your words were a source of comfort I'm sure
love,
consue
