Array ( [sid] => 49659 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => How did I get here [time] => 2004-05-29 21:35:48 [hometext] => I watch in awe and ask a question that every one asks himself atleast once in a lifetime [bodytext] => How often am I curious
about my place upon the earth?
My knowledge is so dubious
I miss what is ubiquitous.
Mankind tries to authenticate
what his mind can not placate.
Knowledge fails to answer questions
of creations implications.
Did thunder crack upon the earth
before the first man walked it's girth?
The scriptures say God saw triumphant
all he made from man to elephant.
Yet even those religious stumble
a church once split over Adam's navel.
I do not claim to have the answer;
I only ponder of earth's granduer.
And that I stand and aquiese
the starry host in its finesse.
That they give light upon my sight
silently sparkling through the night.
Stealing, killing, dying, grieving;
mankind's fate from morn to evening.
Crying loud to God to save them
missing all because of wisdom.
Life's grandsome scheme so obvious,
we miss it, so oblivious.
God gave mankind all the earth,
since the first man walked its girth.
Blood stained guilt from man's first death
child born to it from first breath,
until the day with nagging sound
that he returns unto the ground.
No mystery or writer's wisdom
can answer death poured from man's schism,
suicide, theft, greed and murder
prove what God has put in order:
that by his love and salutation
he gave man both death and salvation,
a mystery by the "Son of man"
given to him to help him stand.
But I have lost track of my question
about the earth and its creation.
Was I born to be predetirmined
to miss God's clues so misinterpreted;
why was I put upon the earth;
why do I walk upon its girth? [comments] => 8 [counter] => 189 [topic] => 43 [informant] => Archie [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 10 [ratings] => 2 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => oops )

Only a few know the answer while many search for them. You hinted at your religious beliefs, but you didnt make the entire poem about your beliefs. you made it about the question. i respect that youve made a very accepting poem of what is and leaves you to ponder about your topic.

Oh Archie that was a most magnificent poem about our Loving Creator.....looking around us we see, he loved us so much in creating!
Everything here on earth has been designed just for mankind! Increases your own worth when looked at through his eyes. It was not God that made man to die, for another very powerful being brought forth all the negativity we see now. The death, the wars, the horrible sights.......God created us to live forever and a night.......and soon now that will come true, for me and you.
Your poem was wonderful tribute to a very loving Creator.......soon all your questions will be answered!
lovingly
consue
