Life takes me into the depths
I can't reach above strife
I'm held down

I can't reach above
Because of my weakness
I'm held down

And I'll never get out
I'll never be anything
I'm consumed by fear
Fear holds me down
I can't reach my potential
From down here

I'm keeping myself down
Sinking farther in myself
The fear consumes
And I'm left no more
Life takes me into the depths
And those depths
Are where I'll remain
Till my death
Because of one simple thing

Fear holds me down
Staying here against my will

Fear is a very powerful and deadly enemy. It is one that can be defeated though. One just needs to find the weak spot in its strong hold. Excellent piece of writing.

I agree and disagree with the first comment. First of all fear is very powerful, but only to a point, and in no way is it deadly. I look at fear like I look at my closest friend. Fear is a mystery. In order to understand fear, you must take risks in life. Just like a friend, in order to understand them, is to pay close attention. The only thing in life that should ever be feared is yourself, for you are the one who is in control, and no one or anything else. Life is nothing more than a game of mind over matter, and whenever you make the wrong choice you lose, but you get so many chances over and over again to win. Just never give up, and never let anything scare you in life. Take the time to learn more about what it is that gives you the feeling of fear, then knock down every wall that gets in your way. Don't ever let anything stop you from getting what you want, and deserve. For this is your life, and your time to become, and do what it is that you want to. Other than this, this was an awesome read.
