My bones grow brittle with time
But the memories remain a gaping wound
As I warm my rheumatic hands by the fire I contemplate
Is this dementia, or the final slide into psychosis?

Visions of fury and destruction lull me into a trance
Once conscious to suffering
Now oblivious
Once cherished sanity
Now replaced with inhumanity.

My tongue hath once shrieked the battle cry
Remnants of gore now silence the echo
Underlying madness fueled by ruthlessness
Whimpers for respite easily dismissed
Anguished pleas for mercy fell on deaf ears.

As I walk the final road to my demise
Angst overtakes me
Reflexive repression loosens its hold over my mind
Emitting a final bellow of outrage
I descend into the chambers of madness.

sometimes it is very easy for the madness to take control. i have been taken by madness many times. you do come out of it however. you just have to find a balance between normality and insanity, then it can be peaceful. take care of yourself.
