Hollowed heart hearsted away such a long while back
Entertains the troops as she envisions life alone
Gently grows to despise familial seeds she's sown

Underneath the cold a sensitive soul did lay
Innocently she planned to steal the married man away
Lavishly she clings as her teenage dreams harshly turn
Toward coming of age, wordly lessons I watch her learn

Angry and hurt, a man with perverted persuassion
Never saw it coming, his marriage's abrasion
Doled out punishment, as I saw fit, for his sins
Shook his very foundation, left to begin again

Heiress of the family I'd come to call my own
All you could want in life is all that she disowned
Meth princess and the undying love she had sworn
Ended up crawling home with a baby never born

Outcry of overwhelming emotion, a slight comfort
Found relief in a knife, quick fix to divert the hurt
Held onto by the demons you were randomly dealt
Alien to this world which you have so long indwelt

Promises made I had never intended to hold
People I'd destroyed, expected revenge tenfold
Instead fate delivers up everything I petition
Neutralizes even the slightest opposition

Escaped sticky situations with a natural rebound
Still narcissistic, optimistic, and reasonably sound
Survive this life happily intact, will I ever live that down? Survivor's Guilt... what a fitting title, to the poem and to life. I feel that guilt sometimes, and other times wonder if I will turn out a survivor of reality.

Amazing work here.

Keep writing,
-Eve.

This one hit me between the eyes. To say I can relate is an understatement. The last line is awesome.

Very interesting and reltable to many people, once again very powerful also, i enjoyed this piece because it felt..'real' it felt like reality in poetic form, not like, well, a fantasy like some of the poems on the site do even though they try and be 'real'

A beautiful piece once again

Luke
