Array ( [sid] => 51917 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => ONE SMART FROG [time] => 2004-06-14 15:58:55 [hometext] => My son Montie is starting his own business, this poem was written to encourage him in his endeavors........ [bodytext] =>

"ONE SMART FROG"

Once upon a time in Frogland.
All the tiny frogs got together and,
Arranged a running competition.
The goal was to reach the top
of a very high tower with tension.

A big crowd gathered around the tower, and the race began............
Honestly, no one really believed, a frog was a he-man!
They didn't think any frog would win!
None could reach the top, it would be a trade-in.

You heard statements such as:
"Oh it's way too difficult!"
"They will never make it to the top!"
or:
"Not a chance they will succeed,
That tower is much too high!" all agreed

The tiny frogs began collapsing, one by one....
Those with fresh tempo were climbing higher and higher with much action.
The crowd continued to yell:
"It's too hard!!!" "No one will make it!!!"
More tiny frogs got tired and would quit........

But, ONE continued higher and higher and higher......
He had no intention of stopping, he was no bummer!
At the end everyone else had given up climbing.
Except for the one tiny frog who, after a big effort reached the top beaming!!!

Then all the other tiny frogs naturally wanted to know?
How did this tiny little frog manage it with such Bravo?
It turned out...........
The winner was completely DEAF!!!
He thought everyone had left...
He never heard all the negative comments,
It's these that take all your wonderful dreams
and wishes in your heart away, good intents.

The moral of this story never forget.........
Because everything you hear and read will affect your actions beget!
Therefore:
ALWAYS BE POSITIVE!
And above all:
Be DEAF to people that tell you, you cannot fulfill your dreams, they're your stonewall!

Just tell yourself day in and day out.
With God's help I know I can do this without any doubt.....
And remember the tiny deaf frog at the top.
He couldn't hear any negativity, therefore; had no reason to stop!

Created especially for
Montie, my dear son
with love,
Mom

lol that was great!! you have great talent! i loved that..i think your son will make it to the top with encouragement like that. my mom was one of the people telling me i would never make it. i'm still struggling but i'm away from her so it's helping alot...one of the good things about being 18 was being able to get away from her holding me down. i want my mom to read this so i can tell her that i'm gonna make it and succeed no matter what she believes or says..she can't hold me down anymore..

So much to say regarding your poem. Winston Churchill is one of my favorite Icons of history. He was wise and cheeky and I just love reading anything quoted by him. Your poem had your trademark positivity and light stamped all over it and the pictures summarize the poem. It is always a joy to read your poetry.

You know I think if you revised this poem into a story form it would make a great kids books with a great moral.

Loved your poem.
